We remain true to this line. The Eisenberg offers the best conditions for producing incomparable wines that are typical of the region, and we want to take advantage of this. We focus on making the traditional even better and also presenting the unexpected from our region. The Eisenberg is diversity – you should be able to taste it.
The philosophy
We are committed to two things – good wine and our region. Combining these two pillars is our passion. We see it as our task to make the best of what nature gives us, to bottle the ideal conditions of the Eisenberg and to press wines that are typical of the region with a focus on organic cultivation.
The people
Mathias Jalits is the fifth generation to run the winery. After graduating from hotel management school in Oberwart, he was initially drawn to the restaurant trade. His passion for viticulture remained hidden for a long time. It was only when this fully developed that he attended viticulture school and trained as a master winemaker and cellarer. Mathias Jalits has been running the family business since 2001, with his parents Anna and Alfred as its main pillars. Other important pillars are the dedicated employees, who show great commitment and contribute their passion.
Origin & Soils
With the Blaufränkisch, our region has a jewel that distinguishes the Eisenberg from other red wine-dominated wine regions. Anyone who has tasted one of these Blaufränkisch wines will always recognize it. The unmistakability lies in the combination of elegance and fullness that presents itself on the palate. It is important to us to emphasize these advantages, this uniqueness. Because anyone who drinks a wine from the Eisenberg should also taste the Eisenberg.
